MT-V5311 VDSL2 Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) Transceiver
Metanoia’s MT-V5311 VDSL2 SFP module is a highly integrated SFP bridged modem which provides a pluggable SFP compliant interface to upgrade existing DSL IAD or home gateway devices to higher bandwidth services.
The MT-V5311 VDSL2 SFP module supports ITU-T VDSL2 and ADSL2/ADSL2+ discrete multi-tone (DMT) based Standards which ensures interoperability with equipment from other chip vendors. The MT-V5311 VDSL2 SFP also supports all profiles described in the VDSL2 and ADSL2/2+ standards which ensures optimal data rates at various distances and for different deployment scenarios.
The Metanoia MT-V5311 VDSL2 SFP can be integrated with any router, switch or residential gateway with an SFP type of WAN. There is no more a need for Service Providers to maintain more than one type of CPE device in the field or in the warehouse. Moreover, this also enables the possibility of easy upgrades in future. Users can upgrade to any broadband access data rate simply by plugging in different types of WAN SFPs such as VDSL2 35b / G.fast or optical TRx SFPs in the same internet box and with the same user interface.
As broadband access technology has evolved rapidly, Service Providers need to upgrade their broadband network service every few years. Traditionally, Service Providers have replaced the whole CPE device in order to provide subscribers faster, newer Internet services. Not only does it increase their CAPEX and OPEX but also wastes resources, increase inventories and complicates deployments. Leveraging Metanoia’s VDSL2 PHY SFP series by Service Providers helps them significantly reduce the effort of porting software and testing, thereby shortening their product time-to-market and speeding up deployments.

With this approach, there is no need for Service Providers to maintain more than one type of CPE device in the field or in the warehouse any more.
Moreover, this also provides future upgrade capabilities. Users can easily upgrade to any broadband access technology supporting desired data rate, simply by plugging in different type of WAN SFPs such as VDSL2 35b / G.fast or even optical TRx SFPs within the same CPE box and using the same user interface.
