5G solutions are rapidly moving beyond just providing indoor coverage within buildings or arenas to become the strategic enablers of outdoor network densification for Services Providers. Metanoia’s first 5G product, MT3812, is a 2×2 5G-NR RF transceiver chip, targets the emerging 5G market. It will be becoming the key component in strengthening the Service Providers’ 5G deployments.

Metanoia’s MT3812 is a cost-effective Sub 6 GHz TDD 2×2 RF transceiver with tiny 9×9 mm QFN68 footprints, which supports 200 MHz Bandwidth in both Transmit and Receive modes. It is a highly integrated multi-band programmable and self-calibrated product supporting three of the most popular bands: n90: 2.5 GHz – 3.0 GHz, n77: 3.3 GHz – 4.2 GHz, and n79: 4.2 GHz – 5.0 GHz.  MT3812 is designed to interface with any I/Q baseband chip, with significant features such as high dynamic range on its low noise receive chains and high linearity on its low noise transmit chains.

MT3812 Customer Engineering Samples will be available around the end of October 2021, and Production Samples will be available at the end of Q1 in 2022.

Metanoia will provide Hardware and Software Development Kits (HDK and SDK) to accelerate time to market for customers. Hardware and Software value-added services would also be offered to customers looking for specific support, including features, designs, tuning, or customization.

Metanoia will also offer support to customers in implementing additional features like Digital Pre-Distortion / Crest Factor Reduction (DPD/CFR) as per the PA selected. With this approach, the same system board can be used along with different RF Front End, thereby enabling customers to quickly meet requirements in different markets without the time, effort, and cost of redesigning the whole system.

AMSTERDAM –() –In order to respond to the ever increasing demand for higher data rate of xDSL over copper, coax lines, Metanoia Communications (“Metanoia”) announced today the launch of its latest family of chipsets that supports all the ITU-T G.fast (212MHz profile) and VDSL2 (35MHz profile) standards and builds on Metanoia’s proven G.fast, VDSL2 and ADSL2/2+ technology. 2017-06-19 Swisscom starts deployment of BBF-certified Metanoia G.fast solution. Metanoia's G.fast products certified by Broadband Forum and UNH-IOL

Metanoia Communications Inc. (Metanoia), a leading developer of very high-speed xDSL and G.fast PHY chipsets for the wireline broadband market, announced the successful completion of two important milestones today in its G.fast product strategy:

  • Being part of a real product deployment with its G.fast chip embedded into an SFP (small form-factor pluggable) solution provided by Swisscom
  • Certification of MT-G5321 based G.fast CPE and DPU products by the Broadband Forum (BBF) and the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL).

Mass deployment of the SFP solution by Swisscom has started a couple days ago and will enable many customers to benefit from improvements in throughput and reliability without changing their router.

“With the launch of G.fast SFP module co-developed by Metanoia, Huawei and Swisscom, we are offering to our copper customers an innovative and efficient way to upgrade their broadband data rates and quality of experience,” said Nicolas Stefani, router development expert at Swisscom.

“Shipment of the first interoperable G.fast SFP in the market, by a top tier operator like Swisscom in their network, is a very significant achievement for Metanoia and the recognition of the maturity of our technology. Interoperability (IOP) has always been a crucial element for accelerated deployment of any broadband technology by operators. The recent announcement of G.fast-certified products by the BBF, in accordance with the Forum’s IR-337 certification test specification, is completing this critical step and thereby solidifying the already broad acceptance of the technology for mass market deployment as high throughput and reliability of these products enables operators to provide new higher value services to their customers.

2016-10-18 - G.fast IOP, a First in a Carrier Network Environment. Swisscom makes it a reality that meets their network requirements

HSINSHU, Taiwan — ()  — Metanoia Communications (Metanoia), a leading developer of very high speed xDSL PHY chipsets for the wireline broadband market, announces today that they have achieved interoperability (IOP) between its G.fast solution and the G.fast solution used in Swisscom’s DPUs.“IOP is important to Metanoia, and reason we have been putting significant efforts into it. Bringing the first interoperable G.fast SFP to the market that can be used with deployed Gateways is beneficial to Operators and achieving full IOP with Broadcom allows Operators to benefit from that effort.”

As with most of the broadband technologies, IOP starts at the chipset level, and for Metanoia, like for other chipset vendors. Reaching full IOP with our G.fast chip has been critical to us as a company, as it is also to System companies and Operators. Operators see IOP as a corner stone to their network deployment, and they are eager to deploy equipment, like G.fast Distribution Point Units (DPUs) and Gateway/SFPs using different chipsets, and to be able to operate together on their Network.

Thanks to an G.fast SFP module developed by Metanoia and Huawei, we will be able to upgrade our Internet-Box plus or standard router in the field to G.fast. 2016-07-25 Metanoia Launches Universal First Long Reach Ethernet over VD2 SFP for Industrial Network Applications

Hsinchu, Taiwan 2016/07/25 – Metanoia Communication Inc., a leading Broadband communications semiconductor company in Taiwan, announces today its new Long Reach Ethernet over VDSL2 (LREoVD2) SFP module that enables various industrial network applications such as traditional Ethernet switch, media converter, etc.… to connect beyond the typical Ethernet 100 meters coverage.

2015-10-21 Metanoia and SoftAtHome partner to propose ultra-broadband WAN access package

London – October 21, 2015 – Metanoia, a leading developer of very high speed xDSL PHY chipsets for the wireline broadband market, SoftAtHome, a software provider of home operating platforms enabling convergent services for the digital home, have announced their collaboration to propose a G.Fast universal “Upgrader” package with Metanoia G.fast device, and with SoftAtHome associated software package to upgrade Home Gateway to ultra-broadband speed.
 
This new Upgrader will enable broadband operators to upgrade their existing Home Gateways to the latest high speed WAN standards such as G.fast, avoiding the need for expensive hardware upgrades. This will be achieved by building the package around the universal SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver via which gateways can be connected to all key copper and fibre access network types, including G.fast, VDSL2 and the upcoming VDSL2 35b profile. G.fast is the latest generation DSL standard designed for local loops under 500 metres long, taking advantage of downstream fibre build out to deliver higher bit rates over even shorter copper access circuits. G.fast enables bit rates up to 1 Gbps, depending on loop length.
 
The combined solution will be based on a new single device from Metanoia, MT-G5321, embedded into an SFP unit and running SoftAtHome’s carrier grade SOP software platform for Home Gateways. SoftAtHome’s SOP also enables access to 4G/LTE mobile services so that the resulting gateway will be capable of accessing all the principal wired and wireline WAN options.
 
“Operators want to leverage their existing gateway platforms as long as they can to avoid high costs when they want to upgrade some of the gateway features like the WAN communication capabilities,” noted Lionel Gremeau, SoftAtHome Director of Product Marketing Management. “Combining Metanoia G.fast SFP and our SOP software platform will yield significant cost savings for operators in both CAPEX, since they only need to install an SFP unit instead of a new gateway, and OPEX because there is only one CPE type to manage rather than multiple products for each type of WAN communication.
